UEFA fear computer staff may have been stealing from them for SIX years before they were caught.
The European governing body sacked a number of people from its IT department after a police raid at its headquarters in Switzerland in April.
The alleged offences are thought to be connected to Uefa contracts with third-party service providers.
SunSport can reveal that one of those fired was a senior employee and the alleged offences may have begun in 2015.
Investigators are looking into whether some of those sacked set up a similar scam when with previous employers.
A Uefa spokesperson said: “Due to the investigation we will not disclose the identity of the individuals concerned.
“Uefa terminated the employment contracts with the staff concerned when we were made aware of the fraudulent activities.”
There is no suggestion that any senior figures currently connected to Uefa are under suspicion.

Meanwhile Gareth Bale has called on Uefa to kick countries with racist fans out of competitions.
Speaking earlier this month after Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham were subject to abuse during England’s 4-0 win against Hungary, Bale said: “It is frustrating.
“I don’t know why they launch these investigations that take so long. It is clear to see.
“It has been picked up on camera, by journalists, I really don’t get why there needs to be such a big investigation. It is clear that it happened.
“It does not matter if it happened a little or a lot. The action needs to be taken to stop it.
“Whether you ban the fans from the stadium or if they keep repeatedly doing it, which seems to be what is happening, then you ban the country from the competition.
“I think it kicks it out straight away. If that country keeps making these horrible gestures, then maybe the best thing to do is to get rid of them, give them a suspension and hopefully they will learn their lesson that way.”
