Orono, Maine — The University of Maine women’s basketball team has announced its 18-game America East conference schedule for the 2021-22 season.
Maine opens the conference slate on Dec. 30 when it travels to take on Vermont before hosting NJIT on Jan. 2 in its America East home opener. After a trip to Hartford on Jan. 5, the Black Bears return home for a pair of contests, starting with a rematch of the 2021 America East championship game with Stony Brook, on Jan. 9, and border rival New Hampshire on Jan. 13.
The Black Bears hit the road to take on Binghamton on Jan. 16 before hosting UMass Lowell on Jan. 19. A pair of road games follow, at UMBC on Jan. 22 and at New Hampshire on Jan. 26, before Maine is back at home to take on Vermont on Jan. 30.
A trip to UMass Lowell falls on Feb. 2 before another two-game home series as the Black Bears host Binghamton on Feb. 5 at The Pit and UAlbany on Feb. 9. The Black Bears travel to Stony Brook on Feb. 12 before hosting Hartford on Feb. 16.
A two-game road trip at NJIT on Feb. 19 and at UAlbany on Feb. 23 completes Maine’s regular season road slate before the Black Bears return home to host UMBC on Senior Day, Feb. 27.

The Black Bears return two starters from their 2020-21 squad which finished the year 17-3, including a 13-2 mark in America East play. Maine advanced to the America East Championship game for the sixth-straight season, and 20th time in the history of the program, in 2020-21.
