Men’s Basketball Broadcasts Shift to New Home on ESPN+ – California State University at Bakersfield Athletics – CSU Bakersfield Athletics

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2021-22 men’s basketball season is just around the corner and the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners are preparing for their second season in the Big West Conference. The `Runners are ecstatic to have fans return to the Icardo Center after a year without their Rowdy crowd, but CSUB Athletics is also excited to announce that all home men’s basketball games will be broadcasted on the ESPN family of networks for the fifth-straight season.

Updated on the broadcast schedule this year is Bakersfield’s shift to its primary residence on ESPN+. While certain CSUB contests may be selected to appear on the Worldwide Leader in Sports’ linear networks (ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU), the go-to location for `Runner games this season will be ESPN+. As part of the Big West’s partnership with ESPN, CSUB is on pace to broadcast well over 100 home events on the network this academic year.

A subscription to ESPN+ is available for purchase via ESPN.com, ESPNPlus.com or the ESPN App. The ESPN App is a one-stop digital sports platform that provides easy, dynamic access to everything ESPN offers. Fans can access ESPN+ content only after they have subscribed.

Fans can take advantage of certain limited-time deals and bundles to maximize their content received. For example, ESPN+ has been available through the “Disney Bundle”, which combines ESPN+, hulu, and Disney+ for one low cost. Also, certain cell phone service providers have at times including deals for free access to ESPN+, so check with your provider for details on those offers.

CSUB is also excited to bring back play-by-play announcer Vance Palm and local sports anchor Greg Kerr as the color analyst for the duo’s fourth year on the call.

Bakersfield’s first home game and ESPN+ broadcast is just over a week away as the `Runners are preparing to host San Diego Christian Nov. 6 in an exhibition. When you are not able to get out to the Icardo Center, make sure to tune in to ESPN+ and watch CSUB as Palm and Kerr call the action courtside.
