Join Men’s and Women’s Basketball on Oct. 26 at the DePaul Tipoff Luncheon – DePaul Blue Demons

CHICAGO – The annual DePaul Basketball Tipoff Luncheon is set for Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Wintrust Arena beginning at 11 a.m. College basketball and BIG EAST insider John Fanta will host the luncheon as Doug Bruno and Tony Stubblefield update fans and supporters with the latest on the basketball programs and preview the upcoming season.
 
Tickets for the event are $40 per person or $350 for a table of 10 and include admission and lunch. Doors open at 11 a.m. with lunch and the program with a Q-and-A for the head coaches starts at Noon. The luncheon is scheduled to end at 1 p.m.
 
In addition to his daily coverage of college basketball and the BIG EAST Conference, Fanta hosts the BIG EAST Shootaround weekly show that goes inside the latest happenings of the league. He is also a contributor to the Field of 64 podcast network with Rob Dauster and handles play-by-play for men’s and women’s college sports on FS1, FS1 and the BIG EAST Digital Network.

The DePaul women’s basketball team enters the 2021-22 season focused on making the NCAA tournament for the 18th time in the last 19 years the postseason classic was held. All five starters return led by All-BIG EAST First Team guards Sonya Morris and Lexi Held. Bruno and the Blue Demons are playing every home game at Wintrust Arena this season that includes non-conference matchups with Loyola Chicago, Northwestern and Notre Dame along with BIG EAST contests against Connecticut and Marquette.
 
Stubblefield makes his DePaul debut on Nov. 10 when the Blue Demons host Coppin State. He was named head coach on April 6 after serving on the staff for the last 11 years at Oregon and most recently as associate head coach. In his 11 seasons in Eugene, the Ducks made 10 postseason appearances including eight NCAA berths with three Sweet 16s, one Elite Eight and one Final Four appearance. DePaul is set to also host Rutgers in the Gavitt Tipoff Games and Loyola Chicago in non-conference play before the BIG EAST schedule opens on Dec. 20 against Creighton.
