Michigan Basketball: How to watch/what to watch against Wayne State – GBMWolverine

Michigan basketball will take the floor against Wayne State Friday night in an exhibition and here’s how to watch, as well as watch to watch.

Don’t mind the Michigan basketball fans with smiles on their faces Friday as the Wolverines officially get back on the hardwood — at least for a game that won’t count.

That’s because it’s an exhibition game and it doesn’t actually count. But we still haven’t actually seen the Wolverines play a game since last season’s NCAA tournament and there will still be some things to learn from it, even though it should be a runaway.

Of course, the first thing to cover is how to watch the matchup which will go down at 7 PM EST and that’s on via a Wayne State stream — which costs $6.

Now that you know how to watch the Michigan basketball game tonight, here’s what to watch while the Wolverines take on Wayne State.

What to watch for Michigan basketball against Wayne State

Obviously, the starting five will be something to keep an eye on and it should be DeVante Jones, Eli Brooks, Caleb Houstan, Brandon Johns, and Hunter Dickinson.

There are huge expectations for Dickinson who was named First-Team All-Big Ten in the preseason and it will be interesting to see if his perimeter shot has advanced.

Dickinson didn’t shoot the ball much last season but that doesn’t mean he can’t and I’ll be watching that tonight.

It’s also going to be interesting to see what Jones does as the starting point guard, although I also expect to see Frankie Collins plenty, especially since the Wolverines should control things.

Obviously, the thing people want to see the most is in the first game are the freshman and Houstan should be in the starting five. Moussa Diabate won’t start but I’d expect to see one or two highlight-reel plays tonight from him — Kobe Bufkin too.

Bufkin is one of three McDonald’s All-Americans that will debut tonight for the Wolverines. I’m also excited to get a chance to see what Will Tschetter can do and his shooting ability might even get him some minutes down the road this season.

The other guy I really want to see tonight is Terrance Williams. He’s taken a step forward this offseason and maybe we’ll see the first glimpse of it tonight.

Michigan basketball is ranked No. 2 in the Kenpom rankings tonight and will see a top-100 opponent next week in Buffalo. Wayne State is first and it’s the final dry run before the real games start next week.
