BIG EAST Unveils Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule – DePaul Blue Demons

CHICAGO – The BIG EAST Conference unveiled its women’s basketball schedule on Friday with DePaul’s league opener tipping at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 against Butler.

The conference opener and every women’s basketball home game this season will be played at Wintrust Arena, 200 E. Cermak Rd. in the South Loop.

Two days later, coach Doug Bruno and his team welcome Xavier to the home of DePaul basketball.

The Blue Demons return to league action on Dec. 19 with a roads trip to Queens, N.Y. and a showdown with St. John’s. The final BIG EAST game in December is a much-anticipated matchup against powerful Connecticut which could enter the 2021-22 season ranked No. 1 in the country. It will be televised on SNY.

Bruno & Co. start out the New Year with a Jan. 7 game at Providence followed by a road game against longtime rival Marquette on Jan. 12 in Milwaukee.

It’s back-to-back home games for the South Loop’s BIG EAST contender beginning with a Jan. 14 tipoff against Villanova that will be televised on FS2. Two days later, Georgetown makes a visit to Wintrust Arena—concluding a rugged stretch of three games in five days (Jan. 12-16).

DePaul plays consecutive road games Jan. 21 and 23 beginning with a stop in Indianapolis to take on Butler in the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, where some of the scenes from the popular basketball movie “Hoosiers” were filmed. The road trip concludes in Cincinnati against Xavier with the game being televised by the CBS Sports Network.

The Blue Demons will enjoy home-court advantage in three of the next four conference matchups. St. John’s visits the South Side on Jan. 28 with FS1 televising the game. Right after that, Bruno’s team heads to Seton Hall for a Jan. 30 game that will also be televised on FS1.

It’s back home for the first two games of February—Creighton on Feb. 4 and Providence two days later.

The women’s basketball team will pack its bags for back-to-back road tests with Connecticut up first on Feb. 11 followed by a trip to Our Nation’s Capital to face Georgetown on Feb. 13. The UConn game will be televised on SNY.

DePaul welcomes Marquette to the South Loop on Feb. 16 before taking off to face Villanova on Feb. 20. The regular season concludes with a Feb. 25 home game against Seton Hall followed by a trip to Omaha, Neb. for the Feb. 27 showdown at Creighton that will be televised on FS1.

All non-conference home games and all BIG EAST contests not designated for television will stream on FloSports and the BIG EAST Digital Network.

The BIG EAST tournament is set for March 4-7 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The March 5 quarterfinals will be televised on FS1 and FS2 with FS1 covering the March 6 semifinals and the March 7 championship game.
